The Role
We are looking for an organised and commercially minded Sales Administrator / Sales Support professional to join our busy sales team.
This is more than a general administration role. You’ll provide day-to-day support to the Business Development Managers and Sales Director, helping to convert opportunities, retain existing customers and maintain an accurate sales pipeline.
You’ll take ownership of quotations, contract renewals, customer follow-up and CRM administration, while working closely with operational teams to ensure a smooth transition from sales opportunity through to service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line sales support for customer enquiries, responding professionally and coordinating with the appropriate team members.
- Prepare and issue customer quotations, following up outstanding opportunities and updating CRM records.
- Identify upcoming contract renewals using sales history and customer information, prepare renewal quotations and proactively follow these through to completion.
- Maintain accurate customer, quotation, opportunity and pipeline information within the CRM system.
- Support the sales team by monitoring pipeline activity, quotation conversion and other key sales metrics.
- Liaise with Planning, Operations and other departments to ensure a seamless handover of secured work.
- Assist with tender submissions, framework applications, pre-qualification questionnaires and supporting sales documentation.
- Capture customer feedback and ensure relevant information is shared with the appropriate teams.
- Develop a strong understanding of the company’s services to effectively support customer enquiries.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of sales administration processes, reporting and CRM best practice.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is organised, proactive and enjoys supporting a busy commercial team.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in sales administration, sales support, internal sales or a similar customer-focused commercial role.
- Excellent administration skills with strong attention to detail.
- A proactive approach to managing quotations, renewals and customer follow-up.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional telephone manner.
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (PowerPoint would be beneficial).
- Experience using CRM systems (training will be provided).
- An understanding of sales pipelines, reporting and performance metrics would be advantageous.
- Good commercial awareness and an interest in supporting business growth.
- A collaborative attitude with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence.
- Own transport due to the semi-rural location of the office.
- Ability to successfully complete a DBS screening process.
