Financial Controller – Tunbridge Wells £50,000–£58,000 DOE | Hybrid working after probation | Excellent progression

An established and growing business is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join its friendly, close-knit team in Tunbridge Wells.

This is a broad, hands-on finance role offering plenty of autonomy and the opportunity to take on more strategic responsibility as the business continues to grow.

About the role
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will take responsibility for a varied finance function, including:

• Assisting with monthly management accounts
• Month-end invoicing, sales and purchase ledgers
• Cash flow management and bank reconciliations
• VAT returns and monthly payroll
• Credit control and supplier payments
• Financial reporting, forecasts and variance analysis
• Managing accounting systems and liaising with external Accountants

What we are looking for
Ideally, the successful candidate will be part-qualified CIMA or equivalent, or AAT qualified, with strong hands-on accounting experience.
They will also bring:

• Accounts preparation experience to draft accounts stage
• Sage 50 Accounts experience – ideally essential
• Sage 50 Payroll experience
• Strong Excel and IT skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisation
• A reliable, proactive and self-motivated approach
• The ability to work confidently within a small team
